Muluemebet Abera Wordofa is a PhD holder and an associate Professor at the department of population and family health Jimma University she is also serving as Dean of public Health Faculty, Jimma University. At the department of Population and Family health she is teaching different courses, advising MPH and PhD students, undertaking various researches and provides community services in her field also published more than 25 peer reviewed articles. Beside the academic activities currently she is managing several projects which are funded by national and international organizations. Dr. Muluemebet’s Research interest mainly focusing on range of public health and clinical research with special focus on the following area :- Reproductive Health with special emphasis on Maternal and Child health, adolescent health service use, nutritional status And the determinant factors for service use; Health system research with emphasis on service quality, health information system, and data for decision at the lower level ; and also researches that focus on the relation between human, animal, and environmental health to provide comprehensive understanding of health problems and potential solutions for a better world.
She is life member for two professional association Ethiopian Public Health and Ethiopian Family Guidance association. She is chairing the national research advisory Committee on Family planning under the ministry of Health and She is member of the INDEPTH Board of Trustees Since 2017. Dr. Muluemebet Abera holds a PhD degree in international health from Ludwig Maximilian university of Munich, Germany in 2015, Masters of Public Health in Reproductive Health and Bsc degree in Public Health office both from Jimma university, Ethiopia in 2006 and 2000 respectively, and Diploma in Clinical Nursing from the former Black lion centralised school of Nursing in 1992.
