A Veterinarian by profession with background and extensive experience of Pastoral and Agropastoral livelihood development with over twelve years of experience.
Dr. Abdirahman holds a Bachelor of Veterinary Medicine and Master of Art in Project Planning and Management from Makerere University and Admas University respectively. Dr. Abdirahman lectured Veterinary Public Health, Livestock Production Systems (LPS) and Veterinary Preventive Medicine at IGAD Sheikh Technical Veterinary School (ISTVS), University of Hargeisa and Gollis University respectively.
Dr. Abdirahman has diversified skills including livestock value chain analysis and development, Master Trainer (MT) of Agropastoral Filed Schools (APFS), certified Livestock Emergency Guidelines and Standards (LEGS) trainer with vast experience of LEGS implementation, CAHWs training and pastoral policy analysis.
Currently, Dr. Abdirahman works with GIZ (German International Development) as a technical advisor on Livestock Health and is based in Berbera, Somaliland. He is a passionate about the development of Pastoralist and agropastoral societies and advocates for those always neglected societies to bring on board in government and NGO service delivery such as both human and livestock health and also protecting their environment.
