The title of our project is “Assessment of the effects of meteorological factors, land-use and human activities on the prevalence of animal and human fascioliasis in Ethiopia”.
The objective of this research project is to determine the prevalence of human and animal and its determinant factors in the Gilgel Gibe and Butajira Health and Demographic Surveillance System (HDSS) sites in Ethiopia. Currently, there is a sample size of a total of 392 children faecal samples, and 784 animal (sheep, goat & cow) faecal samples across the two sites which will be collected for analysis of fascioliasis.
The study period is a one year project (February 2020 to March 2021), and data collection will be from mid-October to End of December 2020).
